What we are actually selling
Any lamp lights a room. What decides whether you keep one for thirty years is whether you still want to look at it when it is switched off, sitting cold on a console in daylight. That is the thing we work on.
The figure groups are made in separate pieces — chairs, tables, instruments, reeds — and assembled before firing. That is why they have depth from the side rather than reading as a relief.
Colour goes on under the glaze and is fired beneath it. There is no surface film to scuff off the nose of a figure or the rim of a jar, which is the usual failure on painted ceramics.
Pleated silk on the porcelain, linen drum on the ceramic, both included. Nothing here arrives needing a shade bought separately to look finished. Care & Materials
